What to Know Before Your Visit

Plans offered through Covered California include important health care services for women, from screenings, birth and reproductive health services to pregnancy and maternal health, sexual and reproductive health care and more.

Most preventive services are covered at no added cost when you see an in-network provider and the visit is scheduled as preventive care.

Cervical cancer screening
A Pap test to find early signs of cervical cancer
Every 3 years for most women starting at age 21
HPV DNA test
A test to find high-risk HPV types that cause cervical cancer
Every 3 years for women 30+ with normal results
Osteoporosis screening
A bone density test to check for osteoporosis and help prevent fractures for women over 60
As needed, depending on risk
Urinary incontinence screening
A yearly check and help managing incontinence, if needed

Tobacco screening and cessation support
Screening for tobacco use, with help to quit if needed, plus extra counseling during pregnancy

Domestic and interpersonal violence screening and counseling
Private counseling and support if you may be experiencing domestic or interpersonal violence
